People hate surveys but organizations still persist in bombarding us with them anyway.
Why? The answer is simple, questionnaires generate structured data which is easy and cheap to analyze. But people hate questionnaires so much it’s frequently impossible to get them interact without offering some sort of incentive, such as prize draws -- or, increasingly, a straight payment for their time.
Yet people like to share their opinions -- if the context is right. There is no shortage of opinions on Facebook, Twitter, or the hundreds of thousands of forums scattered across the web.
But the problem with text-based opinions is that they are not structured -- so they can’t be easily and cheaply analyzed. In fact, at scale, this is a practically impossible task.
Veespo combines the best aspects of social media comments and questionnaires.
Users like Veespo because:
They have full freedom of expression (just like social media)
They decide how long the interaction lasts (just like social media)
The experience is fun and immersive (just like social media)
Organizations like Veespo because:
The collected data is automatically aggregated (just like questionnaires)
The data can be analyzed graphically with a few mouse clicks (just like questionnaires)
The organization retains control over how information is shared with users (unlike social media)
Data can be collected, aggregated and analyzed across languages (unlike social media)
People today have shorter attention spans and higher expectations of the products they interact with. Unlike questionnaires, which are designed around the needs of organizations, Veespo puts users first by respecting their time, their need for self expression, and their constitutional right not to be bored by archaic data collection methods.
There are two key differences between interacting with Veespo and interacting with a survey:
You decide how much data to share. If you only want to communicate a small amount of data, that’s fine. Organizations are learning that it's better to collect a small amount of information from users rather than none at all.
Want to add to the conversation? No problem, just click on the add button at the bottom of the Veespo interface and you can type in your text. Once the new text has been moderated, it will be seen by all other users, leading to controlled crowdsourced dynamics.
User data is automatically aggregated by Veespo and is available in real time for anything from simple graphical display to Big Data analysis.
There are three ways to access the collected data:
In the Veespo dashboard - simple, quick and very powerful
Directly for our open API - need to pull the data into your own systems in real-time? No problem!
Traditional download - all collected data can be downloaded into standard spreadsheet formats.
The Veespo opinion interface is provided as a widget, which can be quickly and easily incorporated in any website or mobile app. The Veespo dashboard, which can be accessed through any browser, is used to configure the widget, analyze the data, and manage the enterprise-class permission system.
Veespo provides HTML, iOS and Android versions of the widget. The HTML version takes just minutes to set up by copying and pasting custom-generated code from the Veespo dashboard.
Both the underlying functionality and the look and feel of the widget can be easily customized, either buy using the graphical widget editor in the dashboard, or by passing parameters directly in code.
Veespo uses multiple datacenters containing over 40 distinct nodes to guarantee a consistent and available service. As of February 2016 the two year trailing uptime for the platform is 100%.
Veespo uses Datastax Enterprise and Databricks Spark (both top-level Apache projects) to provide robust and lightning fast storage and analytics respectively.
All data collected by Veespo is stored on servers which are not accessible from the public web. This means that potential hackers have no access to these servers. Also, Veespo does not store any private user information on its servers, meaning the platform is very easy to implement from a compliance point of view.
In tests conducted on over 1,000 respondents, Veespo collected 400% more feedback than an equivalent questionnaire.
Feedback collected with Veespo is better because it’s crowdsourced and so more accurately reflects public opinion.
