Forget questionnaires

People hate surveys but organizations still persist in bombarding us with them anyway.

Why? The answer is simple, questionnaires generate structured data which is easy and cheap to analyze. But people hate questionnaires so much it’s frequently impossible to get them interact without offering some sort of incentive, such as prize draws -- or, increasingly, a straight payment for their time.

Yet people like to share their opinions -- if the context is right. There is no shortage of opinions on Facebook, Twitter, or the hundreds of thousands of forums scattered across the web.

But the problem with text-based opinions is that they are not structured -- so they can’t be easily and cheaply analyzed. In fact, at scale, this is a practically impossible task.

People today have shorter attention spans and higher expectations of the products they interact with. Unlike questionnaires, which are designed around the needs of organizations, Veespo puts users first by respecting their time, their need for self expression, and their constitutional right not to be bored by archaic data collection methods.

There are two key differences between interacting with Veespo and interacting with a survey:

• You decide how much data to share.
  If you only want to communicate a small amount of data, that’s fine. Organizations are learning that it's better to collect a small amount of information from users rather than none at all.

• Want to add to the conversation?
  No problem, just click on the add button at the bottom of the Veespo interface and you can type in your text. Once the new text has been moderated, it will be seen by all other users, leading to controlled crowdsourced dynamics.
